Well we have kicked off 2012 with a bang! Stripping the paint off the court walls was a MAMMOTH job and one that we are very glad is over. The committee is very grateful for everyone's support and effort.

Grant is in the process of organising the Heineken Summer Multi Sport Challenge on the 18th February. Entries are limited to 8 teams only so if you want to participate in this fun challenge - please let me know ASAP as the entries are filling up fast. The information poster is linked down the right side. We are also looking for a rowing machine to use as part of one of the challenges.
We have been offered a fundraising opportunity through The Entertainment Book - these are books that are printed each year and are filled with hundreds of vouchers from places all around the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. We are hoping that we can sell them as a club and the money raised will be put towards our Junior Programmes. The books are $55 each. If you use just 2 vouchers from the book, then it has paid for itself. There is a sample behind the bar for you to have a look at.
While on the topic of Juniors...we are currently working with some members on creating a Junior Development Performance Squad. This will involve coaching clinics, weekly coaching sessions, entering into tournaments (both here in Taupo and out of town). We are looking for members who are available to help coach these up and coming players. This could be a weekly or monthly commitment or you could just offer to take a one off intensive session. The juniors are the future of Taupo Squash Club and we have some great talent coming through in our club so let's get behind them!!

We have a member who is keen to find other members who want to have a go at Racket Ball. Racketball is where you use a very bouncy ball and larger rackets. Let us know if you are keen as he is willing to teach anyone who is keen for a hit. Racketball has become extremely popular in the UK and there is a club in Wellington who enjoy playing racketball. Leanne & Grahame both had a go at it during the Working Bee and had a great time. It is fun for something different!
